Reimann Crosses the Atlantic: First Estonian to Compete in Porsche Carrera Cup North America

EST1 Racing driver Alex Reimann will open a new chapter in his international racing career this week as he makes his debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America (PCCNA) — a series widely considered the U.S. counterpart to Europe’s prestigious Porsche Supercup.

The 20-year-old Estonian talent will take on his first-ever race on American soil at the iconic Road America circuit. Having already made history as the first Estonian to start in the Porsche Supercup, Reimann is now breaking new ground again — no Estonian driver has previously competed in the elite-level PCCNA.

From Europe to the U.S. – A Natural Step Forward

Reimann has already turned heads this season in Europe, showing significant growth across the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, Carrera Cup France, and the Supercup. With strong performances and valuable experience under his belt, the time has come to put his skills to the test across the Atlantic — against the very best in North America.

“The top 10 in both continents are extremely competitive, but the U.S. tends to have larger grids, which changes the dynamic,” explained Raimo Kulli, team principal at EST1 Racing.

One key difference Reimann will need to adapt to quickly is the use of ABS braking systems and different tyre compounds — features not present in the European Carrera Cup formats.

New Territory, Same Determination

Unlike in Europe, where pre-race testing on the actual track is common, Reimann has prepared for Road America exclusively through simulator training. Even so, his enthusiasm is unmistakable:

“It’s one of the most exciting and rewarding circuits I’ve driven in the simulator — long, fast, flowing… a true American classic,” said Kulli. “We even ran a 24-hour iRacing event on this track once. I’m confident that this simulator experience will give Alex the confidence he needs to get up to speed quickly.”

The focus for this debut outing is not podiums — but experience and comparison.

“We want to benchmark ourselves against the local front-runners and see how the American format suits both the team and Alex,” said Kulli.
“It won’t be easy — limited track time, new surroundings — but these are exactly the kinds of challenges that accelerate a driver’s growth.”

International Team Effort

Due to guest driver regulations, EST1 Racing will not appear under its own name in the official entry list. However, the full team is present on-site and will deliver the same professional execution seen across their European campaigns.

The team is partnering with experienced Florida-based outfit Citimarine Motorsport for this event, ensuring seamless integration and support.

Alongside Reimann, EST1 Racing will also field a second car for Javier Ripoll Jr, who has raced with the team on multiple occasions in both the AM and Gentleman categories — scoring numerous podiums and trophies across recent seasons.

Reimann’s start at Road America is not only a key milestone for his own career but also a powerful testament to the growth of Estonian motorsport on the international stage.
