Two points finishes at Zolder: Alex Reimann and EST1 Racing secure valuable Benelux points

Last weekend the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux season continued in Belgium, with round five held at the historic Zolder Circuit. Running alongside the European Truck Racing Championship, EST1 Racing driver Alex Reimann took to the track and, despite difficult starting positions, brought home important points ahead of the season finale.

Fresh from sixth place in the prestigious Michelin 992 Endurance Cup 12-hour race, Reimann and EST1 Racing have been steadily consolidating their position in the Benelux front pack this year. Zolder was no exception, with points from both races despite a challenging qualifying.

In the opening phase of qualifying a loss of engine power was detected following Saturday’s off-track excursion. The team chose to focus on a thorough check and repair instead of a second qualifying run. The issue was rectified before the races and the car was at full performance for both.

In Race 1 Reimann started P10 and moved forward steadily, finishing P7 on the road. A stewards’ decision classified the result as P9 — points on the board, with pace and overtakes delivered: “Alex made a very good start and executed cleanly in the sections where overtaking is scarce. The decision left us classified P9, but the pace and clean execution were there,” said EST1 Racing Team Principal, Raimo Kulli.

In Race 2 Reimann started P12 and maintained a patient, precise rhythm in heavy traffic. He emerged cleanly from several duels and climbed consistently to finish P7. According to Kulli, the young Estonian showed the best of his race craft: “Alex delivered a very strong drive in Race 2, being one of the fastest on the opening laps. An oil strip on track initially left essentially one fast line, but he kept a cool head, picked the right moments and took the places cleanly,” Kulli said.

P9 and P7 added important points before the final Benelux round and underlined the team’s stability. “We leave Zolder in a positive mood: we made data-led decisions, tuned the car from qualifying to the races, and the crew executed without mistakes. On Wednesday we’re already in Valencia to continue in Porsche Carrera Cup France,” Kulli noted.

Reimann was realistic yet optimistic: “It wasn’t the easiest weekend, but we took a clear step forward as a team. We adapted quickly, stuck to the plan and brought the points home with clean driving. See you in Valencia,” said Reimann.

Next up for EST1 Racing and Alex Reimann is the Porsche Carrera Cup France round in Valencia — the goal is to keep the momentum and fight for even higher positions.
