Alex Reimann Kicks Off the New Carrera Cup Benelux Season at the Legendary Spa-Francorchamps Circuit

On 9th and 10th May, the opening round of the highly competitive Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux will take place as part of the FIA WEC race weekend. Estonia’s circuit racing prospect Alex Reimann will be on the grid for EST1 Racing at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit – a venue beloved by both drivers and fans alike.

Named one of the rising stars of the series by the official Carrera Cup Benelux channels, Reimann is entering his second full season in this highly competitive championship. Twenty-two talented drivers will go head-to-head virtually with identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, ensuring close and thrilling racing. During his rookie season in 2024, the Estonian demonstrated strong pace and potential finishing 12th overall and 6th in the Rookie classification. This year, the focus shifts entirely to gaining experience and aiming high in the top-tier PRO category. With only minimal changes introduced to the series since 2024, all conditions are in place for Reimann to continue his upward trajectory.

“The expectations are similar to those in the French Carrera Cup, the other championship Alex is competing in full this year,” said EST1 Racing team principal Raimo Kulli. “The tracks are now familiar, so the focus is no longer on learning but on delivering results.”

Reimann’s 2025 Benelux campaign kicks off in front of a sizeable and enthusiastic audience. The FIA WEC round is Belgium’s second-largest motorsport event after the Formula 1 Grand Prix and attracted over 88,000 spectators in 2024.

Nestled in the Ardennes region, Spa-Francorchamps is renowned for its hilly layout and rapidly changing weather conditions, which often lead to unpredictable races. This year looks to be no different, with forecasts ranging from intermittent sunshine and clouds to rain and even hail. “The track isn’t necessarily more difficult than others, but its length can create larger time gaps between drivers,” Kulli explained. When asked whether Reimann enjoys racing at Spa, the team boss smiled: “I don’t think there’s a racing driver in the world who doesn’t like Spa.”
