Another Encouraging Spa Weekend for Alex Reimann and EST1

This past weekend, the third round of the highly competitive GT Cup Europe took place at the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

Among the standout entries was Alex Reimann, continuing his increasingly impressive season at the wheel of the EST1 Racing Porsche. While the team had the pace to challenge for victory, a touch of misfortune kept them just shy of the top. Nevertheless, the weekend offered a strong reminder of Reimann’s potential—and plenty of motivation for the races ahead.

Out of the two races competing in over the weekend, Race 1 was particularly promising. Starting from fourth on the grid, Alex immediately fought his way into third at Turn 1 and continued climbing to second as the race progressed—closing in on the leader. Unfortunately, a steering column issue struck at a crucial moment, forcing him to wrestle with unstable steering through the closing laps. Despite the setback, he managed to secure an impressive P4 finish, minimising damage with a gutsy drive.

In Race 2, Reimann started from third and maintained his position until the mandatory pit stop, which caused him to drop a few places. A determined final push saw him finish fifth, collecting valuable experience and points along the way.

Alex Reimann:
“All in all, it was a strong weekend in terms of driving and learning—ultimately the most important part. It’s tough not to come away with the result we aimed for and definitely deserved, but we’ll return stronger.”

Reimann and EST1 Racing will be back on track soon at the legendary Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands, where the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux resumes from 7–9 June.
