Reimann and EST1 Show Strong Pace in Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux Debut at Spa

EST1 Racing made a promising debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux last weekend, with lead driver Alex Reimann taking on the series’ season opener at the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The event, held as part of the FIA WEC race weekend, brought together some of the strongest GT drivers in Europe and drew an impressive crowd of around 88,000 spectators.

The two races delivered intense wheel-to-wheel battles and plenty of drama, something Reimann experienced firsthand. Navigating through a challenging debut weekend, he kept his composure to secure 11th and 9th place finishes in the overall classification, despite early setbacks in Race 1.

Alex Reimann:
“The weekend started off tough and unlucky. I had contact on the opening lap of Race 1, which affected the car’s steering for the rest of the race. Still, we managed to finish 11th overall and 6th in the Rookie standings. Despite the difficulties, it was a race full of close fights and valuable lessons. In Race 2, we kept things clean from the start. I focused on maintaining a strong pace throughout, and even though luck wasn’t quite on our side, I held onto 9th from the grid to the finish, earning 4th in the Rookie classification. I’ve learned a lot and I’ll come back stronger.”

Raimo Kulli, EST1 Racing Team Principal, added:
“Overall, we’re satisfied with the first weekend. We had a bit of misfortune, but the pace is clearly there. We’re definitely going to keep fighting for Rookie podiums in the races ahead.”

Thomas Kangro, representing Porsche Estonia, finished 20th and 13th overall in the two races, placing 9th and 7th respectively among the Rookies.

The second round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux takes place on 7th–9th June at Zandvoor, a circuit with a very different character from Spa. Notably, the event will feature two-time World Rally Champion Kalle Rovanperä, who joins the grid for the first time this season.

As for Reimann, fans won’t have to wait long to see him back at Spa, as he returns to the track in just two weeks for Round 3 of the GT Cup Europe.
