Alex Reimann concluded his debut season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux with a final round at Belgium’s Zolder Circuit, finishing 12th overall in the championship and 6th in the Rookie standings. EST1 Racing secured 10th place in the Teams’ classification.
Zolder proved to be a challenging finale. In Race 1, Reimann struggled to get fully comfortable with the car and ultimately crossed the line 12th overall and 6th among Rookies. However, he bounced back in Race 2 with noticeably improved pace and confidence. Despite a similarly close result on paper — 11th overall, again 6th in the Rookie class — Reimann’s performance on track was significantly stronger, engaging in tight battles throughout the race.
At the front of the field, Kalle Rovanperä added another race victory to his already impressive debut circuit racing campaign. Meanwhile, Kirk Schouten, who finished third in the final race, clinched the 2024 championship title after a consistent season among 21 competitors.
“The first race definitely wasn’t what we were aiming for,” Reimann reflected.
“We just couldn’t find the pace throughout the stint. In the second race, though, the feeling in the car was great and I had several exciting battles on track — I really enjoyed it. While the result wasn’t quite what I had hoped for to end the season, I’m proud of how I performed in that final race.”
Also on the grid was fellow Estonian Thomas Kangro, competing under the Porsche Estonia banner. In Race 1, Kangro finished just ahead of Reimann with 11th overall and 5th in the Rookie category. He followed that with 13th overall and 8th in Rookie in Race 2, ending the season 17th overall and 9th in the Rookie standings.
There’s little time for rest, however, as Reimann and EST1 Racing now shift their focus to the season finale of the Porsche Carrera Cup France, taking place this weekend at Portimão. While the team hasn’t taken part in the full French season, they head into the final race with strong expectations and determination to deliver a standout result.
