Circuit Racer Alex Reimann Claims First Podium at Imola

Alex Reimann and EST1 Racing celebrated their first Rookie-class podium in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux during Round 3 of the season at Imola.

Heading to the Italian circuit, Reimann’s objective was clear: to finally convert the promising pace shown in the opening rounds into a podium result. Despite a modest qualifying, that goal was achieved in Race 1, where Reimann crossed the line 9th overall and 3rd among the Rookies.

As is typical in the closely fought Carrera Cup Benelux – where all drivers compete in virtually identical machinery – the result didn’t come easy. Reimann narrowly held off Domas Raudonis at the finish line by just half a second.
“It was definitely an exciting race. I’m really pleased with the progress we’ve made in terms of pace, and the big step forward in qualifying too,” said Reimann after the race.

In Race 2, Reimann added more valuable points to his championship with a 13th-place finish overall and 6th in the Rookie standings. These results pushed him into the top ten of the overall championship with 33 points and elevated him to 3rd in the Rookie classification on 76 points after three rounds.

While Reimann impressed in the Rookie fight, reigning World Rally Champion Kalle Rovanperä, driving for RedAnt Racing, reminded everyone that true talent translates across disciplines. Rovanperä topped both qualifying sessions, secured a second place in Race 1, and claimed his debut win in Race 2, along with the fastest lap for good measure.

The next round of the Carrera Cup Benelux takes place in less than a month, from 2–4 August at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands.
