Romet Reisin Secures Third Place Overall in the BMW 325 Cup After Strong Season Finale

EST1 Racing driver Romet Reisin wrapped up an impressive campaign in the BMW 325 Cup by finishing third overall out of a highly competitive 50-driver field in the 2023 Baltic and Estonian Circuit Racing Championship season.

The overall title went to France’s Leo Messenger with 428 points, followed by Latvian Ricards Subeckis with 424. Reisin had claimed the final spot on the podium with a solid 384 points, while fellow Estonian Kristo Krinpus finished just outside the top ten, ending the season in 11th place with 172 points.

Reisin’s final push came during the closing round at the Bikernieki circuit in Riga, where he dominated in wet conditions by winning both races. “Qualifying took place in the dry, but even beforehand we were already planning with the team for the possibility of rain and were discussing what kind of setup adjustments we’d make if the weather changed,” said Reisin.

The BMW 325 Cup enforces strict technical regulations, leaving teams with only minimal setup freedom. “We’re limited mostly to damper stiffness and tyre pressure,” he explained. “Our team nailed the setup—my car’s handling in the rain was significantly better than the competition.”

Reisin started Race 1 from fifth on the grid. “I managed to pass several rivals early and cleanly. That performance also secured me the second-fastest lap, which meant I started Race 2 from the front row. I got into the lead early again and held it all the way to the finish.”

Although pleased with the season, Reisin admitted that the ultimate target had been the championship title. “Naturally, the goal was to win it all. The competition was incredibly tough and the pace at the front was very high. That said, I’m proud of the consistency that we scored points at every round and finished on the podium twice.”

Elsewhere in the BTC2 class, Estonian drivers claimed all three spots on the final championship podium. Simo Lind secured the title before the final round, while Antti Jartsevi took second and Kairo Kallas the crowned winner of Riga, clinched third. In the BTC1 class, Andres Ringo took the victory in the season finale.

Estonian teams also delivered standout results in the NEA two-hour endurance championship. EST1 Racing won the BMW 325 Cup teams’ classification, with Rally Raid that resulted Estonia securing third. MKM Racing took the overall win in BTC1 with ACAP Racing in third. In BTC2, Race, an attack claimed the top spot with Lind Racing in third. As for the BTC3 honours, was awarded to RS Racing Team.

In the four-hour endurance races, several Estonian teams reached the season-ending podium. Resulting in, ALM Motorsport secured third place in the GT3 Cup category, while Neomatic by Krauman Motors and Vineda Racing Team finished second and third respectively in TC2.
